popstarron Amazing. You averaged 364 watts. And that was with me slowing you down in the beginning.February 28 2015, 3:35pm
Fat_Bat Thanks. I was feeling pretty good today. I wonder if maybe there is something not quite right with my setup or with the application... I use a CT and also have a Powertap and the average power I measured was closer to 300W.February 28 2015, 6:44pm
Fat_Bat Do you know where TdG gets the FTP data from for each rider when it hadicaps a ride? I assume it is collected from the riders' TdG rides?February 28 2015, 7:05pm
Rider X Ron, Today I rode your Tour of the Battenkill. I don't know how you routinely do it. The first 2 hours were ok but the 3rd hour was murder. I ran out of water, became dehydrated and cramped up all over. I had never ridden more than 2 hours on the trainer before and I don't know if I will again. @ Fat Bat, talk to Art about FTP. You are correct that it is calculated based on your previous TDG rides - so the more you ride TDG regularly, the more accurate your FTP is.February 28 2015, 7:28pm
popstarron What keeps me on the bike that long is my focus on the actual race. The duration is why I ride it roughly every third week. It does get more bearable the more you do it. l'm finally down to struggling with the last 10 miles. February 28 2015, 9:18pm
Rider X Well, maybe I'll try and join you the next time you schedule this ride. Hopefully, I'll have forgotten how I felt earlier today. The real race course must be hell on wheels!February 28 2015, 11:28pm
Fat_Bat Not sure if this helps but I have my trainer set up in the garage. Its much cooler (30 - 35) than inside and I find that with a fan going I do not get overheated or dehydrated as easily. The first 10 -15 minutes are pretty uncomfortable though...March 1 2015, 8:37am
popstarron Over heating is a definite issue. My sweat locker is set up in a solar heated room. Sun's out and I'm loosing 10 pounds in sweat alone. The Battenkill becomes a four bottle ride with enduralite. Fans, fans, fans for the load generator and me.March 1 2015, 8:56am
Rider X Thanks. Unfortunately, my garage does not have the space. I did drink 5 bottles and still lost 8 lbs. I should have used some sports drink instead of plain water.March 1 2015, 6:22pm
