    Stella11 Not a fan of stealth mode. I suck, that's no secret :-) January 11 2014, 3:30pm
    Mike Novo What is stealth mode?January 11 2014, 3:58pm
arthare It lets you keep your results private. You can enable it at www.tourdegiro.com/login-home.php.January 11 2014, 4:07pm
wayfair Its what people who don't want their power profile plastered all over the internet use. Also it keeps me off the podium, which I consider fair. Personally, I think TdG should share rider weight, like in the real world. Also trainer type and CT calibration, for the curious.January 11 2014, 4:36pm
    Justin Rogers I take it you are a pro Wayfair?January 11 2014, 4:47pm
    wayfair I am over 90kg and 400w. On a fairly flat 50k course, against lighter riders, what's gonna happen?January 11 2014, 4:55pm
Justin Rogers Just asked if you were a pro...Not to be given a smart ass remark! Post your watts per KG if you think it should be out there....No one cares about your power profile there Lance.January 11 2014, 5:01pm
Stella11 I'm also over 90kg and have found that TDG does not reward or bias toward power at all on a flat course....it seems to reward w/kg.....impressive ride for sure, I would love to see the power. If I could hold that speed I would be sending links to my FB page ! January 11 2014, 5:37pm
arthare Stella11, there is an advantage towards greater power, but it is offset because since December we've also added more aero drag for heavier people. You can read about the physics model we use here: http://www.tourdegiro.com/help.php. In general (on a flat course), you will see an increase speed. Though if you're particularly aerodynamically efficient in real life, you may not be as fast in-game as you are in real life. It's a very tough balance for us to strike.January 11 2014, 5:53pm
arthare For example: In real life, I'm 84kg and particularly un-aerodynamic, so I'm faster in-game than I am in real life. But someone who is above-average aerodynamically in real life will be a little slower.January 11 2014, 5:54pm
arthare Wayfair, we chose not to share rider weight because we figured most people don't want their weight shared. And even if we did post all people's specs (we do store all of them), we certainly wouldn't post them for stealth users.January 11 2014, 5:56pm
wayfair Art is of course correct. On a slow climb, speed is totally watts divided by kg. On the flat its watts times drag coefficient and kg does not matter. But drag coefficient is tough to measure, so asking you to input it (like you do weight) is impossible. The best TdG can do is a statistical guess.January 11 2014, 6:14pm
wayfair As for sharing weight, I recognize its sensitive. In reality you cant guess the other guys weight to the kg, but you can certainly distingush 90kg from 60kg from 6kg. Perhaps an animated rider with a variable pot belly standing on a scale?January 11 2014, 6:18pm
wayfair Alright on the flat its actually the cube root of (watts divided by drag coefficient), assuming no wind, but that makes the story tedious. January 11 2014, 6:30pm
Stella11 Art, I would say you guys have done a great job considering everyone is riding with different equipment and devices. Wayfair, I don't understand who you would be hiding your data from ? I personally don't believe you can ride that fast if you weigh over 90kg. Sorry man. You would have to held over 450 watts for over 60 mins .... buy my rough guessJanuary 11 2014, 7:18pm
Mike Novo Regardless of the digital podiums, I feel this spring will be a good one. I'm almost at 4w/kg FTP. That's epic for me...January 11 2014, 8:33pm
wayfair Dont worry about it, Stella. I won't lose any sleep over it.January 11 2014, 9:46pm
sagan Hi Lee, not riding Netathlon anymore? too boring?January 12 2014, 8:25am
Stella11 That's the gold standard for us old dudes (anybody actually) nice work Mike January 12 2014, 4:45pm
MellowJohnny I was involved in yesterdays ride for like 12 minutes the called it a day after rolling respectively for myself 3.93W/KG for 45 minutes on Wednesday then 3.98W/KG for 1:10:50 on Thursday. I saw Wayfair rolling and I was putting out 4.5W/KG and he walked away from all the guys by over 12 minutes.... In my opinion not possible so without doubt his values on weight where entered to mess with the ride. If you see the ride has a lot of actual riders lining up I think the courteous thing to do is roll the ride straight. 90/400W is 4.4W/KG that doesn't mess with the huge margin yesterday. Maybe a 6 minute dent but 12? Doesn't add upJanuary 12 2014, 8:11pm
MellowJohnny Hey guys I did some calculating and WAYFAIR only average 9w per KG... I mean 9W per kilo is totally possible... I am sorry for thinking otherwise brother! I gotta grab another beer, Johnny!January 13 2014, 9:28pm
arthare Hey guys, let's keep it mildly civil. I don't know if Wayfair is a pro or has a miscalibrated powermeter, but he has said he purposely kept himself off the podium (in the sense that stealth users don't really get credited with much on the site), so leave it at that. If he was purposely cheating for the glory of internet bike racing, it'd make a lot more sense for him to make it look like a close race rather than taking off at the start.January 13 2014, 10:12pm
arthare And without revealing too much, wayfair's power in this race was [barely] within the realm of human capabilities.January 13 2014, 10:13pm
MellowJohnny I told my sister about this site last weekend well having drinks.... and food... SHE LOVES TO EAT... sob.. I never thought she'd take action... its all making sense now... Omerta fron now on... Omerta! I need another beer!January 13 2014, 11:11pm
